Custom Built Stair Rail

Unfortunately we don't have a "before" picture of this job. The homeowners had beautiful wood floors installed throughout the home. The railing that was previously in place was a white painted wrought iron rail that was bolted into the newly built stairs. The homeowner wanted a banister that would compliment the look and feel of the wood floors. We wanted to offer them a showpiece.

We priced the options for our customer, considering different wood varieties, finishes, hardware options, and more. Sometimes the best way to ensure that a customer gets the product they are hoping for is to take them shopping. This way we can all see the materials together, the customer can touch and see everything in person, and nobody is left with surprised at the end. Our customers chose which type of wood, which design for the spindles, balusters and handrails, and the stain color.

We stained and polyurethaned the materials over the next days, allowing sufficient time for each coat to dry. Careful attention was paid to building code. Our customer has a home daycare business, and safety was of course a top priority. Work proceeded quickly and the final product was a piece to be proud of.
